The "Walking Tall Foundation" at South Coast Martial Arts has been helping community kids since 1993 by providing affordable training and scholarships for children who otherwise could not afford a traditional martial arts program. In addition we have developed an elite demonstration team that travels to compete in tournaments and performs at special events such as the Anime Expo, Martial Artists for Christ, the China Towns Golden Dragon Parade, along with competing in China for the World Games two years ago or students have even made it all the way to China to participate in shows alongside Jackie Chan. We are presently setting up funds to send a group of kids to compete in the prestigious World Martial Arts Festival held deep in the Wudang Mountains of China. Walking Tall has provided a very positive influence and enriching environment in their lives. Currently the foundation is supporting 20% of our kids with full scholarships and 50% with a partial to give single parent and/or low income families children the opportunity to participate in a sport that is individualized and gives structure to their lives which will carry on into adulthood.
